Hi y’all!!! Today is my husband and my 10 year anniversary! I still can’t believe it’s already been 10 years. Seriously, where does the time go!?! We have been together 15 years, but married 10. I have to say marriage is definitely a roller coaster and we have been tested though the ups, downs, amazing moments and the hard times that help you grow stronger as a couple. I’m still learning how to be married and be the best wife I can. Ya know, it’s funny….when we got married, I didn’t think I could possibly love him anymore than I did at that point…fast forward 10 years later and it’s just so different, but still the same. I’ve learned love just isn’t enough…you both have to give 100%, you both have to do things that are not your love language and try every single day. Our preacher made us read “The 5 Love Languages” 11 years ago and I think it was the best thing he could of ever made us read. I think it has truly helped me be a better wife and even reevaluate those those moments when we were struggling. It helped me be more aware of his love language and he had to do the same with me. It really opens your eyes to understanding what you and your partners love language is and can even help you be a better friend. I do still struggle meeting my friends and hubby’s love language at times, but I still always try. I would encourage everyone to read it, not just those of you who are getting married, but it’s so helpful for anyone with any type of relationship…relationships with a family member, a friend, your spouse or even understanding your kids and what fills their tank with joy.
Since prom and wedding season is under way, I thought on our 10 year anniversary it was only fitting to share my fave prom dresses, black tie dresses, wedding guest options and cocktail pieces since it was highly requested in my stories… and of course I thought it would be fun throw back pic of me and my hubby at our high school prom. LOL I mean…I’m throwing it waaaaaay back…back before we were even dating. I always say, God knew before we knew that we were meant for each other well before we did. Hopefully you get a good laugh at my big Texas hair and thin eyebrows.
