Happy Friday friends! I sure missed you guys!!! It’s a new year and a new adventure ahead. With every new year there are new resolutions. Do you every start your year with resolutions? If so, do you stick to them? Do you find yourself wanting to give-up on the goal after a few months into the year? These are a few tips to help keep your goals realistic and motivate you so you can dominate 2018!

1. Write it down and post is somewhere you will see it daily. That could be on your computer, your bathroom mirror or even in your car. It not only helps you keep you eye on your goal, but helps you continue to make baby steps towards your goal daily. It’s not a sprint to the goal, it’s a marathon.

2. Write down your successes. Weather that’s losing half a pound, preparing 3 meals in a row for your family, deep cleaning more than just every 6 months, exercising (even if it’s only for 5 minutes), getting on step closer to closing a deal at work, taking some classes to help prepare yourself for the job you want. This helps you stay motivated.

3. Share your goal with a spouse or friend. It’s so important to have a someone there you can talk with about your goal. They can help you stay on track when you’re feeling weak or thinking about quitting the resolution.

4. Remember why you started. What made you choose this as a resolution in the first place? Were you unhappy about something, was it going to help you be a better parent, employee, friend or spouse, were you noticing wrinkles you never noticed before, were you trying to do something for yourself this year since you always put your family first? Whatever the reason, remember why you started.

5. Get back up and try again. You were told as a kid, get back up and try again. Isn’t it funny how it still applies as an adult. We are human and make mistakes daily so don’t beat yourself up when you fail. If you end up eating unhealthy on your healthy diet, you didn’t finish the chapter in your book, accidently spent the money you were saving…it’s ok, tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start to get back on the bicycle and get toward that goal.

So, with that being said, I thought I’d share my New Year’s resolution this year with y’all. Remember #3, share your New Year’s resolution with your friends. My New Year’s resolution is to start eating healthier, focusing on skin and making it a priority since I’m not getting any younger and doing something out of my comfort zone to grow as a person.
