New York Fashion Week

Hi friends! What a week! New York Fashion week was a whirlwind, but definitely the trip of a lifetime. I definitely had that pinch me moment…being a mom and getting this opportunity was such a blessing. I have to mention that I enjoyed everyone’s feedback from all my insta stories and I loved that y’all felt apart of the whole fashion week experience.

So..I have to mention this was my first time in New York… so aside from all the fashion week events, I was star struck by New York itself. I mean, what an amazing city!!!

Thursday at 3:30am I headed to the airport. Early bird gets the worm…right?!? My best friend and I landed at LaGuardia Airport at noon and that’s where the fun began…

The first thing my bestie and I did was taxi cab it to Hotel Hayden in Chelsea. The hotel was renovated recently and it was really nice. Let me tell you how difference the hotels are in New York compared to anywhere else in the US. In most hotels, there will be like 100 rooms on each floor…in New York there were 8 on each floor. 4 on one side and 4 on the other. I just thought it was so different. So, what I heard about everything being smaller in New York, that is definitely true clearly all the way to the hotel rooms.

So, after we dropped off our luggage it was off to take on the city. We were about a 20 minute walk from Times Square and Central Park. So, that’s where we went. We took a bike ride around Central Park and our tour guide showed us where they filmed Elf (one of my favorite movies), Maid in Manhattan, Home Alone, the FRIENDS fountain (which I freaked since I’m a HUGE FRIENDS fan) and the buildings where a few celebs live. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

That evening we went to dinner at a trendy sushi place. After dinner we checked out a rooftop bar that had an amazing view of the empire state building.

Friday morning was my first event with LikeToKnowIt at Hotel Rivington. The rooftop view of New York was unreal and the event was so much fun. I honestly was so nervous about attending my first event…I was just nervous that these people would be really rude and unkind to me. I was actually surprised that everyone was so nice.

After the event we headed to our first fashion show and what an event that was!!!

 The Red Carpet

The fashion shows I attended were located at Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. This place was seriosuly incredible. It’s actually an American military history museum on a boat in New York City.

The first fashion show was Richard Hallmarq who you might remember from Project Runway. I loved his edgy pieces.

Next up was Grace Moon.

Then David Tupaz

And next up was Jessica Simpson’s dad, Papa Joe Simpson introduced RILAN (who was also on the tv show Glee). This was SO exciting and it was hands down my favorite performances and shows of the entire trip.

Can we talk about how incredible Rilan really was!!! The dancing was on point and he sure lit up the room.

The last show of the night was very strange. The video that was played before the Honee fashion show started definitely made me feel a little uncomfortable.

Saturday was so incredibly busy. We started our morning off with a walk around the city.

Then it was time to head to the KK Swim fashion show.

This one was interesting as the kids were walking with little puppies who didn’t want to cooperate. After the show I met up with my blogger friends from Canada.

After the fashion show I grabbed a cab and headed straight to the headed to the Vogue event.

Then it was back to the hotel to have a drink and get ready for the Lulu’s event. The Lulu’s even was awesome! The view was amazing if you saw on my insta stories. They had cosmos with cotton candy in them. Yummy! At that point, I realized how hungry I was and had to chow down at the buffet…which I might add was empty. (Leave it to Sue to always find the food table. lol)

After an hour at the Lulu’s event, a few of my blogger friends taxi cabed it to the LikeToKnowIt event.

This event was a blast!!! It was so nice to actually meet so many friends I’ve met through blogging. I love to dance and so make no mistake I got down at this event.

After the event a bunch of bloggers from the event met up for a LAAAATE dinner. A great end to such a fun experience.

Sunday morning my besties and I got up early to tour the city again before we headed back to Dallas. This trip was definitely one for the books and I look forward to visiting that big apple again!
