Tips to Successfully Manage Your Day with Nordstrom

Hi friends! I’m excited to partner with Nordstom to share 4 of my top tips that have been life changing to me and I know they will be for you as well. I know everyone is so busy with work, getting your fitness on, taking your kids to sports, practice, helping them with their homework, cleaning the house, making dinners and the list is endless. Now, I have to admit, I didn’t really prioritize my time until I had kids. I mean, fitting in a little’s schedule into yours definitely can bring on the stress. So, these are a few tips I do to make sure I can get everything done in a day to take the stress off.

Tip 1: Plan Out Each Day. Ok, I’m not a type A person, but maybe I’m turning into one…who knows. This tip has really helped reduce my stress. I plan out (for the most part) what all has to happen each day. I work full time, blog, try to get my fitness on, help the kids with homework, get in that quality time and try to get dinner prepared. Clearly during the day doesn’t leave much room to get it all done. For me that means using a lunch break to workout and or take a blog pic. Also, getting creative and getting your kiddos to workout with you has helped. They enjoy jumping around…or should I say jumping on me and we all are getting our endorphins in. If you have a tentative schedule for the day, it let’s you know that there are more hours in the day then you think and you somehow can get it all done. Keep in mind, we don’t watch much tv. Usually we get to watch our show after the kids get bath time or in bed. Again, I don’t live by the schedule, but I have it as a guide each day (and it can changes) to make sure the important things get accomplished.

Tip 2: Turn Off Your Phone. Yes, it’s as simple as turning off your phone for 30 minutes to get exactly what you need to accomplish without distractions. I have to admit this one is really hard, but really works when you need even just 15 to 30 minutes.

Tip 3: Put the kids clothes out the night before. I actually do this for myself as well. In the mornings I am slow…talk about sloth speed (really….that slow) and this helps me use the extra 10 minutes I might be in zombie mode staring in the closet to reallocate that time to brushing my teeth or getting ready. Trust me, when you have multiple humans and you work at sloth speed in the A.M….it definitely helps shave off a few minutes to get out the door.

Tip 4: Put a crock pot meal in the fridge the night before. I started doing this and it quite possibly has saved my life…i kid, but really it’s made my most challenging duty, stress free. Truthfully, i don’t like to cook and don’t fancy myself a good cook….ask my hubby. It’s awesome since no one has to worry about dinner. When we get home, dinner is served. Figuring out what’s for dinner is so frustrating…esp after a long work day. This tip helps minimize staring in the fridge and asking the hubby what he wants for dinner and going to grab takeout. Trust me, this will save you time and you can spend that on other things like playing on the floor with your kids or catching up on your day with the hubby etc.

Tee // Jeans // Boots // Sunglasses

PS Boots are a must for fall and Nordstrom currently has so many fun options for your littles. I snagged these gorgeous Frye boots (that are available in black too) since I knew Channing could wear them with dresses and skirts for the upcoming seasons. My secret to purchasing boots that last typically for a year is sizing up a 1/2 a size. I’ve done this with my son & now continuing this little hack with Channing.

These are a few more fall boot options for your littles’ currently available at Nordstrom.

Top (fits TTS, wearing M) // Skirt (size up, runs small)
Sunglasses // Purse // Shoes (fit TTS)

Thanks again to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. As always, all the thoughts and opinions are all of my own.  Much love, Sue
